The leasing company Europlan and VSK Insurance House have signed a general agreement to insure leased vehicles. The agreement deals with the insurance of domestic and foreign cars and trucks. The term of the insurance agreement is the same as the terms of the lease agreements, and the insurance premium is paid annually.
VSK-Moscow Deputy Director Alexei Ketrar said that the insurance coverage includes CASCO insurance and civil liability. The vehicles are insured against theft (in any form – illegal possession of vehicle without intent to steal; robbery, and burglary) and also against damage. The policyholder and the lessee are covered against risks arising from the possession and use of the vehicle and also against damage caused to third parties as a result of accidents. If agreed by the lessee, the policy may also include life and health coverage for the driver and passengers in the vehicle, and also cover additional equipment in the vehicle.
Alexander Ketrar said that VSK Insurance House has a lot of experience of insuring lease agreements and is constantly expanding its activities in this area.
