Yaroslavl, an ancient Russian city, is preparing to celebrate its millennium in 2010. The city is situated on the banks of the Volga and is the cultural capital of the Golden Ring. Yaroslavl region is part of the Central Federal District. The region covers an area of 36,400 square kilometers and has a population of 1.4 million people.
The region is in the top three regions in Central Russia in terms of its economic and scientific potential. The Yaroslavl region State Duma has passed a number of regional laws to stimulate investment and economic development, as a result of which the Expert rating agency put Yaroslavl region in first place among Russia's 89 regions in terms of investment attractiveness in 2003.
The region has tens of thousands of companies, over 300 of which are large companies of national significance. The most developed sectors of the economy are engineering (engine production, shipbuilding, aviation construction, instrument making, electronics, etc), chemical and petrochemical production, timber processing, light industry, and food production.
The region's proximity to Moscow - 280 km – is also a positive influence on its business climate.
“Over the past year the number of contracts with businesspeople from Yaroslavl has increased significantly, therefore we have decided to open a new office, to provide a faster and higher quality service to our clients. Local business is interested in upgrading its fixed assets, but unfortunately alternative sources of financing are not very widely represented in Yaroslavl region. I am sure that the Europlan office in Yaroslavl will live up to the expectations of the business community as a reliable financial partner,” Europlan Vice President Alexander Levi said.
“Europlan operated in Yaroslavl before the opening of the local office. We carried out major preparation work, therefore our arrival in Yaroslavl was not a surprise to our clients and partners. Our first deals in Yaroslavl indicate a lot of interest among local business in Europlan’s attractive financial terms. We plan to offer companies and entrepreneurs in Yaroslavl and the region a standard of service and a speed in decision making equal to that offered by Europlan’s central office,” Alexei Doskin said.
Alexei Doskin is also responsible for business development in neighboring Vologda and Kostroma regions.Source: Press Service Europlan Back to News List
