According to a rating of leasing companies published on 29.03.2005 in the business weekly FINANCE, Europlan is the largest leasing company in Russia based on the number of its active lease agreements as of 01.01.2005.
The company has a total of 3,511 lease agreements on 01.01.2005.
The number of lease agreements signed over the year increased 79%.
A second important indicator was the size of Europlan’s equity. As of 01.01.2005 it exceeded 748,000,000 rubles, which is 66% more than the same indicator in 2003. Despite the fact that the main source of financing for Europlan deals is long-term loans from foreign financial organizations, an increase in equity is of major importance from the point of view of financial stability and development potential. According to the FINANCE rating, Europlan is in fourth place in Russia in terms of its equity.
The company’s strategy is to offer leasing services to as wide a range of clients as possible. This is indicated by a drop in the average size of the company’s deals, which fell almost 50% over the year to US$71,000 from US$141,000 in 2003.
