Leasing company Europlan has announced financial and operational results for 2008. In spite of leasing market slump, the company demonstrated significant growth of its business, overcoming average market indicators. In 2008, with numerous lessees, Russian enterprises, organizations and businessmen, Europlan concluded 15 620 financial leases of automotive transport, special vehicles and equipment for the sum of more than 908 million US dollars.
Europlan contracted 93% of new business in its main leasing segment of automotive transport and special vehicles. The company has strongly proved its leading positions in this very market segment that was confirmed by ratings of Rosleasing associataion (member of Leaseurope), and the rating agency Expert RA. For the reporting year, Europlan leased record 15 106 units, particularly, automobiles, lorries and buses, special transport and self-propelled machines to Russian companies. The company has expanded its regional presence, increasing the number of its offices to 45 around the country, and has realized more than 52% of its business in regions beyond the Central federal area. Europlan has financedthousands of small Russian companies (with less than 100 employees) that presented 81.3% of its volume of contracts.
By the end of 2008, the total assets of the company have increased by 28% and reached 626 million US dollars (according to non-audited US GAAP on 31.12.2008). The volume of the leasing portfolio has reached 738 million US dollars. The company s own capital has amounted to 120 million US dollars that exceeded the previous year figure by 75%. This level of capital made Europlan the most capitalized company among largest non-government lessors (Rosleasing, January 2009). The company s total revenues from the leasing activity has grown by 2 times and has reached 125 million US dollars for 2008.
The year 2008 was marked for Europlan by expansion of the list of foreign financial partners and diversification of funding sources. The company attracted 138,7 million US dollars and 2,6 billion rubles as new borrowings. It successfully entered the Russian bond loan market in 2008. The received funds were directed to finance of new leasing transactions.
Being the leader of the Russian automobile leasing market and holding a significant market share, the company has continued to develop cooperation with representations of car manufacturers in Russia, importers and dealers. In 2008 there were actively working partner programs with Nissan Motor Rus (brand: Nissan), Peugeot Rus Auto (brand: Peugeot), Rolf Import (brand: Mitsubishi), Hyundai Motor CIS (brand: Hyundai), General Motors CIS (brands: Chevrolet, Opel, Saab, Cadillac, Hummer), Ford Motor Company (brands: Ford, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar), Volkswagen Group Rus (brands: Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi), BMW Russland Trading (brand: BMW), Avtoframos (brand: Renault), Mercedes Avtomobili Rus (brand: Mercedes-Benz) and Chrysler Rus (brand: Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge).
